Encore Leasing & Finance Corporation conducted a Signature Verification and Forgery Detection Seminar last November 26, 2022. The 1-day learning session was attended by all Encore partners from the head office, and Pampanga Hub. Ms. Julieta S. Santiago, an NBI Document Examiner from Questioned Documents Division of NBI Manila, served as the learning expert/speaker of the seminar. She was also served as the lecturer and speaker of various aspects of questioned documents examination for several private companies and government offices. She also attended several training seminars including the Forensic Questioned Documents by FBI Document Examiner, Forgery Detection and Document Features by French Police & Immigration Attaché. Thus, the partners learned a lot from the speaker.
The following courses were discussed during the seminar: Understanding the five handwriting characteristics associated with forgery; Significant handwriting qualities, features, elements and characteristics; Comparison guidelines and the procedures involved in the verification process; General to look for in order to check for possible forgery, such as tremor, hesitation, pen lifts, blunt starts and stops, patching, and static pressure.
To check for understanding, and as part of the seminar’s learning assessment and dynamic activity, the participants were divided into groups and examined sample signatures whether it's "Forged or Genuine". At the end of the seminar, participants thanked the speaker as they have gained sufficient knowledge and confidence in authenticating documents, understanding forgery and signature verification compliance issues, and in applying effective control measures on fraud prevention.
